Maricopa Moves
Maricopa employees and family members participate in the annual Maricopa Moves. This event is to encourage participation in wellness activities....relaxing, exercising, and having fun with the Maricopa employees and families. It is extremely important that we pay more attention to the preventative side of our health care. Wellness Maricopa has arranged for several types of preventative screenings to be available at this fair, and I encourage each of you to participate. I hope to see you there, and personally challenge the leaders of each campus to support this worthwhile event.

Health Screening
Wellness Maricopa and Blue Cross / Blue Shield have partnered to provide FREE Health Screenings to all MCCD employees. The Health Screening is confidential and
will provide each employee with a valuable, comprehensive personal profile. This
profile will give you a current snapshot of your status based on your responses
to specific questions. The report may not address all health issues. If you have
a question about your health status please consult your health care provider.
WHAT IS INCLUDED IN A HEALTH SCREENING?
- Health Risk Assessment (HRA): The HRA is a questionnaire that will ask you various lifestyle questions on topics such as: tobacco use, nutrition, physical activity, stress management, automobile safety, alcohol, medical information and biometric information (height, weight, cholesterol, etc.)
- On Site Testing: Blood Pressure, Total Cholesterol, Blood Glucose, Body Composition Analysis, Height and Weight.
AM I REQUIRED TO DO ALL OF THE TESTS TO PARTICIPATE?
Participation in these screenings is optional and not required in order to take the Health Risk Assessment. If you have recently been to your health care provider and know the results of some or all of the biometric questions you may bring the screening results with you and use them to answer the biometric questions.
*ARE MY RESULTS KEPT CONFIDENTIAL?
To ensure that your Health Screening results are kept confidential you will be given a random identification number. Only you will know your number so it is important to keep it in a safe place. The Health Screening will be offered annually and to receive a comparative report please keep your randomly assigned number to use for all future Health Screenings.
The results of the Health Risk Assessment are based on the responses you give. The HRA is intended to provide general information only and is not intended as a substitute for your provider’s opinion or care. For complete diagnosis and treatment, consult your health care provider.
Results received from all employees who take the Health Screening will be used for developing new programs and tailoring current programs to better meet your health and wellness needs. The aggregate data is reviewed as a whole, and no individual data can or will be reviewed or reported.
